We Bid a Fond Farewell to Doug Shipman

NSP and the Hartford Foundation celebrate our dear colleague, Doug Shipman’s legacy to the Foundation, as he moves to the next chapter of his nonprofit career. Doug joined the NSP staff almost eight years ago, and during this time greatly enhanced NSP’s offerings including overseeing the Building Evaluation Capacity Program, creating the Evaluation Roundtables, developing the Evaluation Capacity Grants, and expanding and improving the Organizational Assessment program, to name a few.  Doug was instrumental in helping to spearhead some of the Foundation’s innovative initiatives including the Small Agency and Building on Success Programs and the Greater Together Community Funds. Doug was also the inspiration behind many activities that created a positive and enjoyable work environment at the Foundation, including co-captaining the Foundation’s Dragon Boat team and organizing staff happy hours.  Needless to say, Doug leaves some mighty big shoes to fill.  We salute and wish him well as he transitions to become the new Executive Director of the Windsor Historical Society, and continues his dedicated service to nonprofits in our region.  Best of luck, Doug!
